What makes NewBridge different?
In education, as in other fields, certain “buzz words” become popular, and before you know it, everyone is using them. The problem is finding a program that actually does what it says. NewBridge has been teaching students with disabilities for sixteen years, and we have plenty of proof that we actually do what we say.
We begin with students who want to learn and succeed in school, and then we teach them HOW to learn. We are a strategy-based program, focused primarily on teaching students the most efficient and effective ways to acquire and use information rather than simply covering materials.
While doing this we use the California State Framework, so that when students return to more traditional mainstream programs they have the same background knowledge as their peers. But for students at NewBridge, the content is simply a vehicle for creating successful, life-long learners.
